    817-bug-rugs

    for some reason i remembered bug rugs tonight.

    i first learned about bug rugs 15 years ago as a young 817 phreak (wikipedia).

    go ahead, call it. 817-284-7847.. or you can download the mp3 of what you'll hear

    back then i heard it was to test hearing aids. the internet says it's for detecting taps. (817-bugs-tip?) maybe so. personally i think its main utility is a simple line quality check.

      I have lived in Ft. Worth my whole life and since we were kids we would call this number. I was told as a kid it was to remove bugs from your house….lol

      I was told it was a number to see if your line was bugged. If it whistels no bugs, if busy then your line is bugged. But this number has been busy every time I have called it. Could someone please help?? Thanks
