2. keywords (and related phrases) in places where keywords should go
   • domain name
   • title tag
   • file name/path
   • markup: prominent header tags, "strong"ed, etc.
   • content, in text on the page




3. proper navigation
   • avoid javascript navigation
   • flash sucks
   • text (rather than image) based navigation
   • overall, good human usability often means good spiderability - it's best to think in terms of accessibility




4. avoid negative factors
   • participation in sketchy communities (ie, linking to "gray area" sites)
   • spam or the appearance of spam
   • etc, etc
